Ok so we filed adjustment back in early February so right about 6 months ago. I called USCIS today for the second time in this time frame once when the case was transferred to California office also in February and again today; yeah im fairly patient lol. The USCIC operator told me that until California transfers the case back to another NSC they can not give me a timeline and the stated time on my NOA is no longer a valid estimate. Umm thats bullshit what should i do or can i do?

You are correct, it is BS. Most cases transferred to CSC are not transferred back, they are approved at CSC and the applicant receives the GC in the mail with no interview. Very few are transferred from CSC to a local office for interview.

Not much you can do right now, but soon you can. Once your application has been at CSC for 6 months you can have your local representative contact USCIS on your behalf to request your case be pulled. You can ask USCIS to put in a service request but it probably won't do anything. They will put in a service request once your case has passed the procesing time for your local office (even though your local office has nothing to do with your case), but CSC will most likely respond with "we are very busy, wait your turn" or something to that effect.

I raised a Service Request, as my case was over 180 days, here is the standard response:

This notice acknowledges receipt of your status inquiry concerning your pending I-485 application. We recognize your interest in a final adjudication on your pending application and are aware of the difficulties caused by any delay in processing. The California Service Center is committed to processing this workload, and will be making every effort to adjudicate your case in an expeditious fashion as soon as available under our resource constraints.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

So Basically, they know its over 180 days, but cant tell me when they will get to it but they are working on doing so !!!

Try your senator's office, now that your file has been at CSC for 6 months.

I'm loving this response. It basically says "we'll get to it whenever we feel like it so go away (insert smug smilie)". With all the thousands of dollars they receive each year you'd think they'd be able to afford an adequate amount of helpers to assist in reviews. How is there a resource constraint? Perhaps they are paying their workers way too much money, causing the "resource constraint".

Has anyone had luck with ombudsman in these situations?

Total elapsed time between filing I-129F to GC in hand 569 days or 1 Year, 6 months, 22 days.

I tried the ombudsman at the same time as my senator was finally able to request the file be pulled (after my case had been at CSC for over 6 months). They ombudsman did get back to me about two weeks later, but by that time my GC had already been approved. I figured it was worth it. If anything, it lets the ombubsman know of the issue, and the more people contact their office, the better.

I'm confused by your timeline. When was your case transferred to CSC? Is it still there? The 6 months is from transfer date, not file date. They won't assist unless you are past the 6 months from transfer date.
