Hi All!

I'm happy to announce it's my first post here, but having read through TONS of informative material here - I know you'll be a BIG help. So, already THANK YOU in advance.

My wife and I married about two weeks ago, she's Chinese and I'm U.S. Citizen. We're working through the paperwork, of which I know you all are completely familiar with by now.

Now, before we send our documents and get this ball rolling - we were actually looking to change her last name on her Chinese passport first and then running with her new 'married' name on all the documents for her adjustment of status. The only issue, Chinese Consulate says she not only needs to present the marriage certificate and passport but ALSO a green card. So, apparently found ourselves in a bit of a 'catch-22'.

I'm wondering how others have processed name changes. Do we need to petition for this after the whole process? Any suggestions, tips, recommendations?

Any help (especially those with Chinese spouse) would be GREATLY appreciated.
