Hello everyone! Well we are still pulling our hair out to say the least! Filed our AOS last November and our case was transferred to California (unfortunate for us!!). Well it was then transferred to the Lees Summit, MO center three weeks ago (I assume they now want an interview). Just wondering if anyone knows how long it generally takes to get the packet of goodies from Lees Summit to a local office. From there, how long does it take for them to generate an interview notice. We are so far out of normal processing time that I would have thought they would try to move things along for us but apparently, we were very wrong. I am completely freaking out about it too because I have a trip to Europe scheduled in mid-October that I absolutely can not reschedule. Any comments or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Normally when a case is transferred to the CSC, they process it without an interview. also, Lee's Summit, MO, is the charming place where green cards are shipped from.

Not sure how long it takes to get to the local office, I'd guess a couple weeks. From there how long depends on your local office and how backed up it is. Which office is yours?

Hi There,

I am in the same boat, patiently (haha) waiting for the news, my case is still with the CSC, which was transferred in March.

I was just going to point out, did you not apply for Advance Parole when you sent in your AOS package? My AP was approved in a couple of months, perhaps you could still do this if October is your deadline? Even if you didn't apply for AP you could perhaps still apply and get it before October?

If you look on my timeline it says my AP (and Employment Authorization) was approved in 58 days.

58 days from today will be 09/27.

Might be worth a try and it's a VERY simply application?

Good Luck

GrayL

Thank you all so much for your insight. My husband is the one waiting on the GC so no need for AP since I will be the only one travelling this October. I am just worried about the interview interfering with my trip since I will have to be in attendance with him. Our local office is Atlanta. I also read that most people sent to CSC do not get an interview but for some reason we have yet to be approved. The website still says "initial review". And we then receive a notice about the transfer to Lees Summit, MO. I am thinking that we will have to attend an interview because if his GC was in production the website should reflect the approval. This is just so frustrating for us because my husband really wants to join the US military and can not enlist without the GC. It is just so ironic that the government is doing this to someone that wants nothing more than to be of service to this nation.

Ahhh geez, I'm sorry to hear, I was feeling some self-pity but in reading your situation (and time frame) I feel bad for you!

I get what you're saying now about the AP, sorry I probably didn't read the OP properly!

Yeah my case was transferred to CSC, I'm hoping this means no interview, but honestly at this point I would be thrilled to receive an interview date or word from the CSC, anything!

Sorry I can't be of any further help, I was thinking of making a call to the USCIS or creating an infopass appointment, but from what I'm reading it would be kinda pointless anyway so it's just waiting waiting waiting.

I hope everything works out for you, the best of luck.

Hi,

We just found out that my wife's I485 was also transferred from CSC to Lee's Summit, MO. Hers also still says "initial review" on the tracking web site.

I was just writing to see if there were any updates on your situation, and get some insight from your recent experience.

Thanks,

Andy
