Hello everyone,

I have been reading all kinds of topics in this website looking for an answer to our questions, but have been unsuccessful. I am a U.S. citizen, and my husband is Danish. We married almost a year ago on August 5, 2011. We planned on doing our paperwork here in the U.S., but husband's father fell ill and he had to travel back home. We decided in order to save time, and money we would start the process over seas. I sent all the paperwork to USCIS in October for both an I-129f and an I-130. It took about 6 months for both to get approved at the same time. We were under the impression that with the I-129f he could come and continue the process here in the U.S. This was in March, but then we were informed that since the I-130 was approved we had to continue with the I-130. The case was sent to NVC in April, and we completed all the paperwork. We had our case completed by May 30, 2012, and now we were told that we would just be awaiting an interview date in Sweden. We have called many times, and no information is given to us. The people at NVC have been very rude, and just tell us they do not know when an interview date will be scheduled. They can't even give us an approximate date. I am tired of calling, and end up getting so upset and aggrevated about the lack of information. They keep telling us a visa is available, but they don't know when an interview will be scheduled. As you all may know this is a very hard situation for me and my husband. We can't have peace not knowing when we can be together again. At least if we had a date we would just know we have to wait. It's almost been 11 months since we were separated, and it's been very hard. Does anyone know if this is normal? Does anyone have any information on how backed up Sweden embassy is on interviews since they had to take over Denmark's and Norweigh's paperwork? Does anyone know if NVC can just deny us any information? I have read and seen that many people are given information of possible interview dates, but we have only been responded rudely and not told a thing. Please we are desperate and don't know what else to do? Is there anyway he can come to the U.S. and finish the process here. Any information to all these questions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,

denus

What do you mean a Visa is available? Never heard that. A Visa is granted on approval at interview. As far as interview appointment seems most embassies are very backed up. Many have been waiting upwards 3 months. Have you called your embassy in Sweden to see whats up? Have you called DOS (Department of State)? When calling NVC have you asked to speak directly to a supervisor? The people answering the phones are contract folk who will read the same thing to everybode no ,atter. Once in a while you get a goodie but rare.

I would keep calling and calling. Thats all we can do.

yea, have you called the embassy? You maybe able to find out the approximate waiting time for a CR-1 interview. If you've been waiting a lot longer than what they told you, then you call NVC and speak to a supervisor and supervisor only to find out what is going on.

Thanks everyone!

Yes I have called many times, and this is why I have become so frustrated. I sometimes worry that if I keep calling they can delay our case even more. About the Visa being available, that's exactly what the customer service rep said. That all we had to wait for was an interview date. But again they can't tell us when that will be. They keep saying that we will get a notification when it is scheduled. We have also tried contacting the embassy at Stockholm, and they say that they don't have information on the cases. They are only given the interview dates. We have had no luck with any of these places. It's been almost 2 months since our case was completed and awaiting an interview date. I guess I will have to call and ask for a supervisor.
