Hello everyone, especially to the Filipina members on this website. I need help regarding the psychiatric exams/personal evaluation that St. Luke's conduct. I have had a history of abortion 5 years ago and I am submitted for personal evaluation. I wanna know:

1. How is personal evaluation different from psychiatric evaluation?

2. What is usually the process for this exam (what it is, duration, etc)?

3. How long do you have to wait to get the results?

4. What are the chances on being scheduled for another psychiatric exam?

5. What usually happens during the personal evaluation ( questions, etc)?

Please help me and enlighten me with your knowledge and experiences.

1. I believe they are the same thing.

2. You pay Php1000 and then talk to the psych doctor at St. Lukes for an hour or less.

3. A few days.

4. The psych exam costs Php3000 and takes a few hours. Those who were annulled due to psychological incapacity usually don't have to take the psych exam. Those who admit to illegal drug use sometimes have to take the psych exam. Those who have a history of mental illness or suicide attempts sometimes have to take the psych exam. I don't know what the chances are of your case being required to take the psych exam.

5. You just talk to the doctor.

Best of luck to you. :star:

Thanks, Tahoma. Do you know anybody who have undergone the same experience?

Thanks, Tahoma. Do you know anybody who have undergone the same experience?

I remember one Pinay VJ member who had an induced abortion. Her visa was approved. I can't remember any Pinay posting here who were denied a visa because of an abortion. Hopefully, others will chime in, or they can send you a personal message about their experience.

Even though abortion is not legal in 'Pinas, it is legal in the U.S. Maybe that's the way the consular officer looks at the issue. I don't know. However, I think they are more concerned whether or not a person is mentally stable, and whether or not they are a danger to themselves or to others.

Thanks again, Tahoma. I think you are right. In the end, it will be about if I am going to pose as a threat or a danger to myself or to others.

Walang anuman po. :)

Another thing, you might want to have your fiancé attend your interview because it may help your case. I think the consular officer might be more likely to approve your visa with your fiancé sitting beside you.

Best wishes for a smooth and speedy visa journey. :star:

Sadly, I am not gonna be able to have him on my interview even if I want to. I am a little worried because I will have my personal evaluation on Friday, Aug 3 and I am schedule for interview on August 15. I dont know and not sure if I have enough time for everything.

St. Lukes should complete your evaluation in a few days, so you will be able to attend your interview.

Just in case, you might want to tell the doctor you have an interview on the 15th.
