I have engineering degree from my home country but I am not really practicing on engineering rather in economic side, but it seems there's no impact wherever you took your degree, experience is more important for looking a job except for engineering that deals with codes, you have to take exams to get certified.

What I notice here in Missouri, they need professionals on a higher level. When we relocated here last year, it seems there's good engineering jobs here esp in manufacturing.

I suggests that you start checking job websites here in Missouri. In your resume, don't forget to use your Missouri address and phone number. When are you planning to get here? If you are not here yet, you have to let them know in your cover letter that you prefer communication on email while you are not here yet because they might not consider your application.

For civil engineering, according to my friend (he took civil engineering from the Philippines) you have to take engineering exam in the US to practice it. You have to be well-versed with the US code. There are two exams. You could practice after you passed the first exam.

As everyone else mentioned you will have to take the exams for your degree to really be worth anything. I would suggest looking that until you get the needed exams you may look for some temporary position in Auto-CAD. If you are interested in teaching I would suggest checking in to the community colleges in Springfield. You may very well find something you would qualify for.

Also, each state has a different requirements for a foreign graduate. I would check the state where you are in and find out the rules.
