Exactly, or I go on the dole like everybody else. Nine more years before I get that free medical care I was promised.

Well, if your wife passed away suddenly you'd have COBRA for 36 months. I am sure you could afford it. Then you'd have to be on the individual market for six years. You're in California so you'd qualify for the new Medicaid expansion or subsidies from the Exchange. You'd be ok.

Just don't move to Arizona or Texas.

Or Mississippi. Before you make fun, my neighbor is from California, she prefers it here. She's weird.

As an American living in the UK, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the NHS. I've been covered from the day I moved here as has my daughter. I pay for nothing but my prescriptions and as I buy a prepayment certificate....I pay £10.40 a month for ALL of my prescriptions as does hubby. Normally they are just under £8.00 a script. I don't pay anything for my birth control and daughters scripts are free. Her eye exams and glasses are free, her dental exams are free. Hubby's eye exams are free as he is over 40 and has a parent with Glaucoma. I have never had to wait for an appointment and my GP sent me straight in for a rheumatology appointment for my arthritis. When I was here last time, I had a growth over my eye that looked like skin cancer...I was seen and had it removed within a week. Hubby pays a total of just under £400.00 a month in taxes. Compared to our taxes, medical insurance, and medical BILLS (with insurance) we are far better off here!!!!

Say what you will about the NHS, I like knowing that an unexpected hospitalization won't cost us thousands and thousands of dollars!

+40 points if you call into Rush's show and get airtime.

Families between poverty level and 133% of poverty level won't be eligible for subsidies from the exchanges. They ARE eligible for the newly expanded Medicaid, but if the state they lives in opts out of that they're SOL.

The state with the most uninsured (TX) has already said they're opting out.

That is their reward for electing republicans. Elections do matter. Maybe this will convince some folks of that and maybe they will educate themselves about the candidates and vote for the ones who actually have policies they agree with on the issues that actually matter.

How does that compare to the two million a year infected in US hospitals?

Man, ain't that the truth! I wish they'd change the sanitation procedure, whoever 'they' are.
