Will the letters of intent suffice for Proof of Engagement for Packet 3?

We didn't buy engagement rings, except for small ones we bought at an antique store for ourselves, both of which were less than $100. We also have not made any reservations, or firm plans for the wedding at this time, as we don't have a date yet to plan around.

We did not have to submit any proof. What more proof that you are engaged than to apply for the K1 visa? I haven't heard of anyone needing proof of engagement. You WILL need proof of marriage later though.

Unless it is something new. No need to worry about that.

Not heard of proof of engagement. I didn't have a ring either, many people wait until they arrive in the USA, or like me, never do bother. We didn't have firm plans either, pretty hard to do that when you don't know when :)

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

That would be for the Philippines. Canada has never required a lot of the things on that list you link to. The OP is in Canada.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Agreed you have to be prepared to show you are in bonafide relation. But, just the point of an engagement ring etc... That alone was the OP's concern.

Plus, a ring alone does not even prove you are engaged.

Rings are not required. The letters of intent act as proof of engagement.

everyone case is dealt with differently. if you want to erase all doubt that they might have. make sure you bring as much evidence as you can. even if you think it wont be needed. better to have tooo much and dont want it than too little and need it. can really set you back

Rings are not required. The letters of intent act as proof of engagement.

Just like Jay-Kay said, the letters are the only requirement.

It's like this for MOST countries; but there are some exceptions, such as those who, due to cultural customs, need to have had an engagement ceremony.
