If you have not watched the social trajectory of Gov. taking bolder and bolder steps to insure you *an adult* make the right "choices" about your health and safety you have not been awake sis

I mean surely if they can tell me I must wear a helmet to pedal around the neighborhood.... they can tell you what you can and can't feed your child.

I guess all that Pro-choice talk ends after the baby is born... as the mother might choose to NOT breast feed and we can't have that you know.

The choice remains with the mother. You see, there is a difference between promoting breastfeeding and mandating it. The good mayor of NY is trying to do the former and you're all up in arms screaming he's doing the latter. Not sure what triggers the panic attack here. Or is this another one of them slippery slopes you seem to see all around you?

They should and they do and they will. From the article posted: "...mothers who insist on bottle-feeding will still be able to do so..."

I don't get the outrage. It's all voluntary including the participation for hospitals. What's the big deal with promoting healthy choices?

They just want to promote breast feeding. It has many health benefits for the baby and the mother, many people seem to be unaware of this. If it saves one woman from cancer or one child from diabetes it is worth it.

The problem is that it's ultimately hollow and pointless to make nurses sign out formula like it's a controlled substance, under some ridiculous guise that it's going to promote breast feeding. But a bunch of people get to stand around and clap themselves on the back pretending like they've actually done something that'll supposedly help women and babies. How many are still at it 6 weeks later? Not.Impressed.
