Hello! first of all, good luck to everybody in their journey!

I am confussed because my timeline says my I129F may be adjudicated on Dec 2012. What does that mean? It is the date of the interview OR just the time to get NOA2? On the other hand, when the I129F must be considered approved? At the moment of receiving NOA 2 or at the end of the interview?Thank you in advance!! I need to know when I should start thinking about wedding plans!! :P

It means your petition has been looked at and if all is complete, it is approved and you get the NOA2.

Then the documents go to NVC for more AP and then onto the Embassy for more AP and interview scheduling. Following the interview, the actual visa will be approved, delayed or denied. So there is really two parts. Your Petition to have a visa issues and the interview after which, a visa may be issued.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

When visajourney says "adjudicated on Dec 2012" according their processing time, you will recieve your NOA2 APROX BY DECEMBER 2012. NOA2 is the approval of your case by USCIS (Homeland security...) since you fill your k1 package til your noa2 usually takes 5 to 7 month.

Then, USCIS mail your package to the NVC (National Visa Center) and they give a CRS number (only for Venezuelan beneficiaries), then the NVC mail the package to Caracas. Since your package leave USCIS until reach Caracas embassy, takes like 3 weeks or more. Then YOU have to email the embassy, giving all your information and asking for your interview appointment. They NEVER text, email, mail or call NOONE. Its up to you about asking for a interview. Then they will send you an email with the date and all the things you have to take to the interview (Medical examination results, birth certificate, police certificate, etc etc)

Venezuelan process (according mine experience and other's)

k1---NOA2: Vermont (5-7 month) California (6-9 month)

NOA2---NVC: 3 WEEKS- 1 1/2 MONTH

NVC---CARACAS: 4-9 DAYS

MAIQUETIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT- US EMBASSY CARACAS: 5 DAYS

THEN AFTER A WEEK YOU CAN EMAIL THEN ASKING FOR AN INTERVIEW

TIME OF RESPONSE BY US CONSUL: 1 WEEK- 3 WEEKS

INTERVIEW APPOINTMENT: USUALLY IS GIVEN 1 1/2 TIL 2 MONTH AFTER YOUR INTERVIEW REQUEST.

IF YOUR VISA IS APPROVED THEY WILL KEEP YOUR PASSPORT AND MAIL TO YOU A WEEK LATER WITH YOU VISA ON IT. YOU HAVE 6 MONTH TO LEAVE VENEZUELA, AFTER THAT PERIOD YOUR VISA WOULD BE INVALID. ONCE YOU GET HERE (TO THE US) YOU ONLY HAVE 90 DAYS TO GET MARRIED AND FILL FOR AOS. ACTUALLY AOS DOESNT HAVE A DEADLINE TIME, BUT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO DO IT WITHIN THE 90 DAYS.

Como ves, you have plenty PLENTY of time to plan your wedding. But try to wait until you get your visa approved to pay for wedding stuff.

Im a venezuelan beneficiary, if you have any doubts of the process go and check my profile and timeline...or text me if you need something :)

Is always a joy to meet new venezuelan folks on a k1 process!!!

good luck

Andrea
