K1 Visa Extension

Just a quick question here,

We have been sent the NOA2 (I believe thats the one). Our petition has been approved and they have given us a timeline for the interview. I have until Nov 11 of this year to schedule my interview at the US embassy here in Canada. My question is that, once I have finished with my interview at the US embassy, do I then have 90 days to get married once they hand me the K1 Visa? I am a bit confused right now. I was under the impression once you received your k1 visa, you had four months to use it, and once you do use it, then you have 90 days to get married once you cross the border. The reason I am asking is that I want to apply for an extension, I am not quite there yet with $$. I want enough money saved up to offset costs related to child support and not earning as much in the USA as I am here in Canada.

You have 6 months from the date on the visa to use it to enter. Once in the US you have 90 days to get married.

You are correct, the 90 days of the Visa does not start ticking until the POE. I think you should have 6 months from the issuance of teh Visa, to use it to enter.
