I'm not so sure. The statement about moving the embassy to Jerusalem is either (a) a pretty sophisticated way of showing loyalty to Israel or (b) a bumbling idiot thinking 'Hey Jerusalem's a pretty interesting city with lots of historical significance. Why, the capital should be here, and I'm so excited about that idea that I'm going to proclaim it to the world!'

I hope for the Republicans and Mitt's sake that it's choice A.

Still, yes, pandering to the Jewish vote.

I hope it is A too. You never know with him and his flip flopping! He doesn't seem to understand the relationship between Palestine and Israel though, which is quite worrying.

I wonder if all these gaffes have affected his excitement level?

I am sorry, but you are talking out of your ####. Jerusalem is already the capital!!!

I could explain the issue (which is decades old), but it's a waste of energy.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

He certainly has a tendency to say whatever comes to mind, without thinking if it's appropriate or not. Ie- the statement about the 'power' of 'culture' to account for the economic differences between Israelis and Palestinians. One might think it, but, SAYING IT OUT LOUD to a large number of people is an entirely different matter.

He doesn't seem to know where the boundaries lie. Perhaps this is from hanging around too many snooty rich people who make fun of everyone who isn't as rich as them?

Making stupid statements about Britain is one thing, that can be overcome. It might annoy a few people but they will always be allies. Israel and Palestine is something quite different, this is a delicate subject and should be treated that way. Even we know this!

I hope not. This whole tour seems to have been a disaster. Has he made a positive impact anywhere? This reminds me when he came to the south and tried to win us over by saying y'all, wearing blue jeans and pretending he ate catfish. Then he left the south before the results even came in, couldn't wait to get away!

From vacations on jet skis to sitting by the pool with his IPad and now this...

He said ya'll??? Well bless his heart.

It's perfectly acceptable to insult someone in the south as long as you follow it up with "bless his heart".

He's a blithering idiot...bless his heart

Mitt Romney seems to be laboring under the impression that whatever he says in a foreign country will—like a weekend in Las Vegas—somehow stay in that foreign country.

Either that or he figures nobody back home is paying any attention.

Speaking today to a small group of Israeli contributors to his campaign, the GOP presidential candidate—and supposed sworn enemy of government controlled healthcare—had kind words for the success of Israel’s healthcare system.

That's the other Mitt. Mitt is a big fan of universal healthcare. The other Mitt is the sworn enemy of universal healthcare. Don't tell me they sent the wrong Mitt to Israel. Someone's gotta be held accountable for this.
