Evidence of engagement

Hi, I've been looking at all the example forms and downloads in order to prepare for package 3. I read on the DS-156 form that they want evidence of engagement to your fiance. What exactly do they mean with that? Or is just that they want prove of the ungoing relationship and are print outs of emails and dated transcripts of online conversations enough for this?

Was an engagement ring purchased? That could be used as evidence.

It is the Letter of Intent with the current dates, you can also provide any engaements pictures or recipt of engagement ring etc..

Basically the current date letter of Intent is what they are looking for

A letter of intent will satisfy this.

Other evidence possible:

Engagement ring and/or receipt

Engagement announcement

Engagement party photos

Chapel rental contract, wedding cake receipt, caterer contract

wedding invitation

Wedding dress receipt

Well, we are engaged.....for 3 years now, but we never exchanged any rings or anything like that. Never threw a party either. Just simply decided we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, but we both don't like all the fuss that comes along with it really.

They just asked Marlene if she had an engagement ring and she showed it. They didn't care to see anything further than that ... they didn't want to see a letter of intent or receipts or anything else, but we had them available.

Ah ok, so just another letter of intent basically with a more recent date will do? As far as the wedding goes, we're not planning anything untill I get there since we do have 90 days for all that then + we're not going to do a big do anyway.
