We got one on the Original Petition. It didn't turn out to be more than a 2 week delay. Just the amount of time for me to copy it, send it and them to read it and then bam it was NOA2 time and we were busy setting up the appointments and buying airline tickets and counting up money for the AOS,

Seemed alot worse than it turned out to be in our case.

Here is what the message from the USCIS website says

On July 30, 2012, we mailed a notice requesting initial evidence in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence requested. Meanwhile, processing of this case is on hold until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the evidence requested and a decision is made, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Hang in there friend. I feel your pain, but you may be in a better boat than others. They updated my file to RFE response review today. Hoping I hear something soon. Hoping yours is a quick fix. It will be ok! At least they are on your file!

Yep I suspect it might be the passport size picture. When we were in the Philippines we requested a passport type picture for me and my fiancee. I then submitted it and realized later it was blue background instead of white or off white. To prepare for a possible RFE I had my fiancee several months ago take another passport type picture against a white background that she emailed to me. So I am prepared to submit the correct background. Hopefully the RFE is for that.

And yes I am being processed at the infamous VSC :star:

If it is a RFE for the passport photos, I got hit with something similar ("Face is too large"). Quoted from my RFE:

The photos must be taken within 30 days of the date of this notice and must conform to the specifications below.

So if you think that the RFE is likely for that, be prepared to go to WalMart or something the day you receive the RFE in the mail to get new ones taken. As a paranoid person, that's exactly what I did because nobody wants to fiddle with a RFE twice. :star:

For future users this question might be helpful, and someone with more experience can comment on the validity or truth of the statement/question:

Could he not mailed the photos to VSC as soon as he noticed that the one he submitted may not be 100%? This way avoiding the RFE?

Thanks.

I also agreed with other members, great to know they are working on your petition. Good Luck.
