I just had a question about the evidence I sent in of our marriage.

Me and my husband are almost two-month-old newly weds, so I really have nothing to prove that we share finances at this time, as far a leases, loans, bank statements & such . We tried to open a joint bank account, but he isn't able to do so until he gets some form of government issued ID. I finally got my drivers license and SS card changed to my new last name, but I had already sent in my AOS package.

So, what I sent in was...

Three affidavits from my mom, friend, and co-worker, signed and notarized.

Skype call logs, showing the date/time and how long the conversations were, from August 2011 till before February 2012 when he came to visit me.

[it was almost 50 pages long so I just printed half on double sides, odd numbers.]

A few MSN conversations from 2006 -2011.

*[MSN messenger was our main source of conversation from 2005-2011, but I didn't have many conversations saved from back in the day because last year my old laptop got stolen at the airport. I downloaded what I could from Meebo chat-log.]

My itinerary & receipts of my flights to visit him last December.

His itinerary & receipts of his flights to visit me up here.

The receipt of the domestic flight ticket I bought him from FL to GA.

A recent piece of mail addressed to my husband at my current residence.

Pictures from:

-his visit up here last year before we started dating

-printscreens of us on skype with each other

-my visit for the holidays with him and his family

-time he spent with my family up here

-our wedding pictures

Thats all I could find to send in at this time. Any feedback on if it should be sufficient? Thanks!

(As a note, we kinda had to send in his AOS forms ASAP because I wanted our case to be pending before the date for his return ticket rolled around. He can legally be here till August, but we didn't want to procrastinate.)

Our journey so far...

07/2005 - We met while I was visiting family on the island, became friends, kept in contact over the years.

08/2011 - He came to visit me, and we started a long distance relationship when he left. Skype is our best friend.

12/2011 - Trip to visit him for the holidays and meet his family; got engaged New Years Eve!

02/2012 - He comes up here for a 3 week visit, then decides to stay till my lil sister's graduation.

06/2012 - Decided to get married! :D

06/25/2012 - Start putting together AOS paperwork.

07/13/2012 - Medical Exam & vaccines.

07/17/2012 - AOS packet sent. (I-130, I-485, I-864, I-131, G-325A, I-765, G-1145)

07/18/2012 - Package delivered and signed for.

07/23/2012 - Checks cashed.

07/28/2012 - First NOA's received in mail.

08/01/2012 - Recieved biometrics appointment notice in mail for 08/20.

08/20/2012 - Biometrics appointment in Nashville successful.

09/07/2012 - Interview appointment received in mail for 10/09.

09/21/2012 - Recieved EAD card in the mail. :D

You did send in a certified copy of your Marriage Certificate didn't you? That is the most important piece of evidence and about the only thing we had when we filed for AOS. I would also make certain you cancel the return leg of his flight as it has been reported here by a few VJ members to have bit them when the USCIS states the immigrating spouse left the country because the airlines screwed up.

Good luck,

Dave

We definately sent in several copies of our marriage certificates, with each of the forms that required it. And he did have it cancelled. Thanks for your response. :]
