My wife was telling me about her friend. He lives in the US now and was introduced to a girl by his friend in Vietnam. They met for the first time after a year of talking and had a dam hoi (he spent a month with her during the first visit). Now he plans to gets married by the end of this year.

He's young and has no job. I'm wondering if this is a disaster in the making.

the 1-129f shows that you need to file affidavit of support 1-134 form with evidence of job letter, pay stubs. most recent tax returns if you get a co sponsor must be a us citizen.

Who can tell?there are thousands of people on this website who are young and jobless and have made it through.

Young and jobless through HCMC? yeah good luck with that one...

Sounds fairly typical. Once married he can have a joint sponsor.

I have seen cases like that, maybe not from the same exact country, but it's the typical scenario for most people here.

This is the VN regional forum and what happens in other countries doesn't impact what happens at HCMC consulate.. they don't do things the same way here... You input is appreciated when it applies to the specific scenario / consulate...

I feel more sorry for the beneficiary than the co-sponser.....just saying, the beneficiary is giving up everything to come here, then the sponsor can't provide support and needs.
