Are you really serious? The liberal media went viral on Palin. They invented the whole I can see Russia from here thing, by totally twisting a comment she made. SNL Tina Fey became famous for trying to Make Palin look dumb. They painted her as unmercifully, unrelenting and non-stop as an idiot.

I had pretty much the same reaction when I read that statement too. I can't even remember anything said about Clinton that was on the level of constant jabs at Palin- and actually the Palin comments haven't stopped yet. I don't see how Clinton could have received as much grief as Palin did just based on the fact that Palin actually is more of a character and does say things that are more controversial! It goes to show you how much different people see things I guess.

I know of extreme right wingers who didn't vote for McCain because of Palin. It's really widespread here, women are at the bottom of the pile.

here is another thought for you:

if SNL felt palin was an idiot, running the parodies made good financial sense for SNL ... yet it also trivialized SNL.

they stooped to/below her level. when someone is perceived as an idiot let em alone, they quickly fade away, and you look better.

repeatedly making a stink keeps the target in the forefront and shows SNL chased the money and maybe had an axe to grind (political). either way ... it gets boring to watch.

They went viral on Palin because she kept giving them material. She painted herself in a bad light and the media ran with it. Tina Fey was already famous before Sarah Palin came along. She happened to look somewhat like her and did a funny impression. Palin, I will say, was a pretty good sport about the whole thing. But honestly, that woman did not do herself any favors. She came off as someone not in touch with reality, or with the majority of Americans, and couldn't answer very basic questions that were asked of her.

SNL has always made fun of politicians, on both sides. Sarah Palin just kept the jokes coming.

And it was not the liberal media that took advantage of her antics. She was featured as a caricature of herself in many outlets throughout the world. Can anyone blame them? She may be a smart businesswoman but intelligent she is not. She knows how to pander to the fringes of the conservative base making unfounded comments and empty promises. If her IQ were any lower she would become Michele Bachmann.

Palin was and continues to be a trove for writers and comedians the world over.
