I met my hubbie in Seattle in 2009 while I was on a visitors visa . I came back shortly after and we got married in December 2010. We filed for 485 in January of 2011 in Seattle and were interviewed in April of 2011. During the AOS interview I told the officer that I had checked married in my visa application instead of single. In August 2011 we moved from Seattle to Sacramento. In January of 2012, we were asked to file a 601 hardship waiver because of checking married in the visa application. We filed it in March of 2012 and have never heard anything about it.

My husband was deployed to Afghanistan in March of 2012 and he is still there. Yesterday I got a biometrics appointment letter and a letter asking both of us to appear for a 485 interview in September . The latter letter is very similar to the first AOS interview letter I got. Both letters were from the Sacramento office.

My questions are: My husband is away, should I go for the interview with just an attorney? What is the purpose of this second AOS interview ? What should I expect in this second interview? Is the 601 connected to the 485?

If anyone has any experience where they were called for a second 485 interview before receiving a green card or while a 601 was pending please reply to me.

Being a military spouse is hard enough as it is, this complication just makes it worse!
