I received the tb skin test on Wednesday and had it read earlier today(Friday) the "nurse" said it was positive and sent me to get x rays. She didn't measure or touch the injection site!!

I noticed that on form I-693 the doctor has to state the size of the reaction right? How are they going to know what to write if they didn't measure my reaction? They also did not ask for I.D prior to examination, I'm very concerned as to what they are going to write on my form!

Any who how is this going to affect my application?

ANYONE???

WOW mu suggestion is to call the physicians panel and just ask if a person is found to be positive what happens next? And what is the procedure when the #### is examined or something like that.

It seems the xray will show whether the TB shot is a false positive or not. Than they might suggest treatment or meds or whatever. But call them first.

What i cant believe is that they didnt ask for an id prior to examintation! Thats crazy. Either way the xrays will show that you dont in fact have Tuberculosis. So everything will be ok.

Skin tests show exposure to TB. That is why you were sent for an X-ray. Exposure is different than having active TB.

If you have active TB you will have to take a series of pills for a few months that ought to take care of it.

Or, you could be stupid like my former brother in law and stop taking the medicine. He passed away from it at age 25.

Here's hoping it was just a "false positive" and you are healthy. yes.gif

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

Virtually all Mexicans test positive on the TB skin test due to getting the BCG vaccine as kids, as stated above. The US consulate medical clinics in Mexico know this and skip the skin test, just do the X-ray. Don't worry, I'm sure the x-ray will show negative!!

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter

A lot of Africans also test false postive due to getting the BCG vaccine. Get the x-ray done to be sure though.

Don't rush to take unnecessary medication.

Due to BCG vaccines during childhood, mostly people from Mexico, India, China show exposed to TB.

Next step is to go for chest X-ray and you should be fine. No worries, its' common thing.

At the most you might need to take pills for the next 6-9 months (which is not going to delay your AOS filing).

Good luck !!
