Hi folks- I posted in the student visa section. But thought I would post here as well. My girlfriend and I are looking for a way for her to visit me in the USA. She is a citizen of Ukraine and has never visited the USA before. I'm aware it can be difficult for her to get a visitor visa, but I am just exploring possibilities. It would be wonderful for her to see what my life is like here in the USA.

Basically, I'm just curious if anyone here has any experience with Ukrainian women and visitor visas to the USA. Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions.

She will need to show very strong ties to the Ukraine like family, property, job, etc. Being that she is a single, young (I am betting in her 20s), woman she has two strikes against her already. If you think her ties to the Ukraine are strong enough, try for it. All you have to loose is the application fee and you will never know unless you apply. She must qualify for the visa on her own. My wife applied for a tourist visa and was denied the first time. She has two tourist visas to the US and a K-1 visa, so it can be done.

Good luck,

Dave

Thanks, Dave. I appreciate the reply. I figure we will give it a shot and see what happens. I am going to talk with an immigration lawyer next week. The first 30 minute consultation is free, so I figured no harm. Maybe he will have some advice for our situation.
