Dependent Spouse able to work outside USA?

My husband and I are looking at the options in front of us and how to make a move to the USA feasible for us and our infant. I have read a lot of posts about how a spouse can't work from within the US, but are you able to work if you actually leave the country to do so? I work in the events industry and can have lots of opportunities to go for short term jobs in different countries, but am I allowed to?

My husband would be eligible for an O-1A visa according to an immigration lawyer (reality could be different of course so not counting 100% on it but moving forward right now as if it would be true), but it's unlikely we can afford to live on just his salary for the length of time it would take until he gets permanent residency and I can work so before we accept anything, this would be a big one to find out. I didn't think of it when we had our meeting with the lawyer so before I spend more money with him, thought I'd check here

Thanks for any advice...especially if it doesn't include "you should have asked the lawyer you idiot" :hehe:

You can wottk outside the US.
