can my husband get federal grants for college while he has a green card?

my husband is a resident alien until he applies for citizenship in feb of next year. is he allowed to receive government grants to attend college now? i know neither of us could receive government assistance before (the green card), but can we now?

i got my answer, it is yes, thank you. but what about other forms of government aid (food stamps, etc)?

As a LPR, your husband can apply through FAFSA for financial aid. Financial aid is not a means-tested benefit.

He can not receive food stamps as they are a means-tested benefit. As a US Citizen, you could receive food stamps "for yourself", providing you meet the income requirements.
