I think those representatives have no idea what happening and they were told to say April 2 because that is the first day of the processing time for April. There are VJ'rs with Mid April PD that are getting approved. Maybe its time to ask for a teir 2 supervisor?

Based on what i've read on this site, tier 2 have more privileges to access detailed information about your case.

I called today to change my address. First off, the guy said I couldn't change it until I move. I move on Monday, and USPS is already forwarding my mail. I am annoyed because calling USCIS is honestly going to be the last thing on my priority list for moving 700 miles away. Second, I am worried USCIS will send me the letter and it'll be forwarded and somehow get lost. I've had a lot of trouble with forwarded mail never reaching me. Then, he said they're STILL working on April 2. My date is April 2, and I just find it hard to believe they've been working on the same date for a week and a half. Frustrating!

They must only receive updates on a new date every once in a while. That's what it seems like at least. Yes, they will not allow you to change your address until you are moved to your new address. It's annoying, but they might have had trouble sending official documents to previous tenants/owners. It's really easy to change it once you move though. Only takes a couple of minutes. Trust me. I moved my wife from Canada in a UHaul to Florida (3000+ miles). Once you officially own/rent the place, I think you should be able to call them and tell them that you've moved. We waited until we moved into our new house to change the address because we ran into the same difficulty with USCIS when trying to change her address before the actual move date.
