Does anyone know approximately how long I will be in the London Embassy. My appointment is 9.00 am.I heard the interview is short, but I want to book a train back and wondered how long I will be in there.

Hi there

I have mine tomorrow at 9am. My train back is booked for 2pm. Mainly because I have got a late checkout from my hotel and also due to the olympic madness. Being in it all today you need to give yourself enough time to get around!

The first in line, get served first despite when the appointment is. Their doors open around 7:30 and they officially start calling numbers at 8:00. The earlier numbers get through in a shorter amount time so you might want to queue up early if you want to be out earlier. The interview is short, but waiting your turned to be called is what takes time. Leave your phone and electricals in your luggage at the hotel and you can save having to store them at Goulds Pharmacy. That's what we did.

Thank you everyone thats helpful, I am just going to book the train today. Yes the Lincoln hotel said they are very close to the embassy and I can leave my things with them.

I will be so glad when its over!

We stayed at Lincoln House. It's on this map I put together

Tip on Lincoln House: It's like a converted house, so when you go in, you're in a foyer and nobody is around. You have to head down stairs to find the check-in. We were a little puzzled and didn't notice the sign at first.

Leaving bags: At first they were just going to leave our bags by their tiny podium of a check-in counter in the hallway by the breakfast room. We insisted they be put in the closet behind the counter since our phones and such were inside.
