I met my wife when she was a student here in the US on a J1 visa. Which of the above forms do I need to use?

Also, if I fill out the I-864 it looks as though I get the number 3 people in the house since I am listing my wife and the person I'm sponsoring. Is this correct?

I-864. Do not count anyone twice (you put 0 for your spouse because she is the person you are sponsoring). Is your wife subject to the 2-year HRR on her J1? I thought all Chinese J1s had this.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

What is the 2-year HRR? She is here on an F1 visa. So where it says enter "1" for your spouse I would put a 0? We are already married.

That is for people you aren't already sponsoring on the I-864.

Your wife is the incoming immigrant, that counts 1. The spouse box below that is for people who are NOT the incoming immigrant. Your wife is, therefore it should be 0.

What about the 2-year HRR?

Your original post stated that she was here with a J1 visa. Later you stated it was an F1 visa. Which is correct?

J1 visas may have a home residency requirement. Typically this is printed right on the visa itself.
