Hi VJ'ers

So now my Jay and I are engaged and have started the K1 process, we are waiting on the higly ellusive NOA2. We have been trying to figure how things would work with getting married and all. I noticed someone posted something on catholic marriages so I figured, we'd hang all to dry.

I'm a USC by birth, however, my family moved back to GH. We intend to have a civil union in the US and a catholic wedding ceremony later in Ghana. Having lived in the US for about 10yrs now, and with Jay moving here, how do we co about pre-cana? Do we work with a priest here or there? Do we inform the priest before the civil union or after? What's the churches consideration on this scenario(pre-marital cohabiting, if in the eyes of the church, the catholic wedding is the real deal?

Hope some people can shed light!

Thanks

Better to talk to your church / priest for the answers. But typically co-habitation prior to marriage is frowned on by the catholic church.
