Right, and I'm not saying it does. I'm saying those are two separate statements.

He supports the 2nd ammendment and he also recognizes the tradition of hunting/gun ownership in America.

Why are we lumping the two together as if they're the same thing?

Because when you demonize the AK47, you imply that because it is primarily a tool of war that it is therefore unnecessary and can be/should be more heavily regulated.

When the ChiComs invade, you'll want an AK47 (or something similar).

And that has to do with someone saying saying that "Obama thinks the 2nd ammendment is in place for hunting/sporting" how, exactly?

What? That isn't remotely what he said.

He said he supports the 2nd ammendment AND recognizes the tradition of hunting/gun ownership in America.

How did that translate to "he supports the 2nd ammendment which is in place for sporting purposes" to you?!

Because he cleverly tries to work this angle..... conceding the right of gun ownership without being specific what that means.... so he throws out in the latest statement two sporting events "hunting-target shooting".

in the future we could ban all guns including all hand guns except for example the single shot rifle which must be kept stored at a registered gun club (Uk ish) and he would still be completely consistent with what he said today.

This is an argument for regulating/banning AK's because they are tools of war.

Target has a sale on tinfoil, so I'm hitting that up after work.
