Did it say transfer to CSC or California? If so that is standard for many cases. It means your probably will not have an interview, but the processing times are a bit longer.

Did your case get transferred to CSC? If so, then you are in line with a lot of us here. There are people who filed last december for AOS and are at CSC with no response yet. It appears a long wait is ahead of us.

Hmmm. I'm in the same boat. I filed the AOS in mid-December 2011. My AOS was transferred to California in January 2012. I didn't think much about it. Strangely my boss was doing a K-1 also. His was also transferred to California. Then sent to Missouri. Soon after, USCIS gave him an interview in Philadephia. His wife got her greencard a few weeks ago. That made me worried because he applied for his AOS early this year. :crying:

I called USCIS 1-800-375-5283 to ask about my wife's AOS. The representative asked me where is the nearest USCIS office by me. She said that the AOS is beyond the processing time and refer my case to the local office. They should send me a status within 15 days. If not, I should call back with the confirmation number she gave me.

I would recommend that you give them a call. It would not hurt.

I think half of the frustration might be because you have been in the US since September, so you were here for 8 months before filing. Makes the wait seem longer, probably however that's not on USCIS's shoulders. It is taking longer for cases transferred to CSC. You'll know which service center has your case when you get the notice in the mail.

Hopefully it won't be that much longer until you see an update regarding EAD/AP. To be honest, I only sat around waiting for the EAD/AP. Having the greencard hasn't made any difference for me. Your EAD/AP applications are most likely processed first, esp. if your AOS went to California.

You're not allowed to start working, but you're allowed to volounteer. If you don't have a driver's license, I'd recommend getting a scooter(that doesn't require a license) and then volounteering while waiting around.
