So just to make sure im reading correctly from the CFO website, She has to go to the Guidance and Counseling Sessions in CFO (12 Slots per day) and the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) for Filipino Emigrants (70 slots per day) 2 different Seminars, or can she just go to the Pre-Departure Seminar once she have her Passport with Visa in Hand??? prior to her leaving to the USA? just want to make sure so less time spent in hotels waiting cause she from a different island, and a 7yo child will be along with her.

Thanks in Advance

No she does not go through the PDOS. Read slower on the website.... :):innocent:

CR-1'ers and K-1'ers must complete the Guidance and Counseling session, not the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar.

azar I don't think anyone really understands your question about waiting for processing. Perhaps you might create a new thread for that and give a more detailed explanation since this is a CFO thread.

Cheers

Newbster, good point but I did ask the group on July 27th.... with many views and didn't get any result... Which may or not mean its connected with the reason CFO is making a new rule that doesn't make sense.

I'm very long waiting here and just trying to get through this process since starting sept 2011.

as in my post Final Processing.... I called for our case status and a few replies were it was approved 4 Fridays ago and they are only waiting to print the visa. Now all the replies are the same.... its final processing should have been completed ... whats that mean and why is it taking 4 weeks once approved.....

all of this started because we didnt have Japanese clearance on our interview on April 16th. we sent for the japanese clearance on April 17th and sent that in over 2 months ago. so one month to approve and over one month Final Processing....

Just looking for help with a Happy ending !!!!

It's not going to be all that bad. All one has to do to ensure completion of CFO is arrive the day prior, go lay in front of the gate at CFO, and go to sleep, knowing you are FIRST IN LINE!!!

This is ridiculous, and I feel sorry for all those who have to go thru this process from now on. Talk about trying to keep people down or held back from realizing their dreams. Perhaps they are trying to limit the numbers now. Then, when they "see a need" for more slots, they will increase to 15 per day, with an increase from 400 to 600php. After a few months, they will move to 20 per month @ 900php. *sigh*

So sorry for those who have to deal with this from now on...

It's very simple. It's extortion. To get more money, more power, and more pleasure out of tormenting the people that need this worthless stamp, you withhold it from them. You can turn thousands of people into your lobbyists to give them more funding, more salary - anything to get the extortion to end.

There's no feeling of satisfaction like grinding the boot-heel into people who are going off to live better lives than you could ever dream of, while pretending to be rescuing them. Having them beg you to give them that precious stamp. When you see the immigrant and spouses smiles turn into agony and despair, that goes a long way towards alleviating the jealousy and envy you feel.

I feel badly for the people facing new additional delays and frustrations. The best thing they could do for immigrants is get rid of this asinine requirement.

For everyone's information, this "CFO" thing was more or less instigated by the US Govt via the US Embassy as a way for the Philippine government to

stem the flow of human trafficking. So let's all hold off on our criticism..

There are 140 slots per day, 70 in the morning and 70 in the afternoon on a first come first served basis according to the Commission on Filipino Overseas workers.

Are you dumb or can't read? Because I am looking at CFO website now. 12 people a day at the Manila, and 12 people a day at Cebu. So what can't you read? Here is the website so that you know.

The 70 slots is for a different catagory, I believe that's for the immigrant workers. Fiances and spouses are limited to 12/day.
