Can't be done in Chiang Mai. Has to be done in Bangkok. That said, my wife paid a lawyer in Chiang Mai 5k Baht to deal with it, and she never had to go Bangkok. The lawyer was able to obtain it somehow. I have the lawyer's details if you want to PM me

I hope you read the other recent posts on this subject including todays by another member to make sure she takes the correct info in if she actually goes to BKK.

Karee found a different way to do it from the C Mai area. I suggest you contact him to get that info. The trip to BKK costs about the same anyway.

I got mine in a different city by sending someone I know into see the police. I gave that person " travel expenses " of 3K baht. I had my report in 10 days from the BKK police.

People here on V J said this isnt possible but as you see at least two of us found a way. If your fiance isnt certian about how to do this she will need to travel to BKK while making certian she has the correct docs to present to them.
