This is the 21st century. How far do we need to go back? Civil war? Over 600,000 deaths vs. a total population of just over 3MM? I mean, that's 20% of the population whacked. On comparison, Germany lost about 10% of its population to WWII. Add to that the less than 5% in WWI and you're still not even close. Or did the civil war deaths somehow not happen?

Okay, let's compare.

USA: 320MM people and roughly 10K gun deaths a year

Germany: 80MM people and roughly 200 gun deaths a year

So, the US has 4 times the population of Germany but 50 times the gun deaths. On the same scale as Germany, we would see 800 gun deaths a year - less than 10% of what we're seeing.
