Hi,

Micheal and myself. We start on Friday nights by going out to dinner. We try a different restaurant every time. On Saturdays we go to the library , then go shopping. Go for long walks. Watch t.v. Go to the cinema. Out for dinner in the evening. On Sunday we get up about 6.00A.M. go to Heb Food shopping before the rush. Buy the groceries for the whole week. Then go home and have a relaxing day together and send quality time together. Thats mainly the weekend taken care of.So what do you do?

Kath.

This will be my first weekend here but I'm not really looking foward to it since Luis works all nighters on Fridays and Saturdays and sleeps pretty much all day the next day. That leaves only Sunday night for us to do something and I'm still waiting to see if Luis will propose going somewhere or not. Can't wait for him to get a new job so we can have time for ourselves!

It varies by weekend and season:-). Generally since Joe doesn't get home from work until 7 or 7:30 we usually just have dinner at home and relax on Fridays. Occasionally we will arrange to meet friends for dinner and spend an evening playing dominoes with them at their place or ours. Last night we met up with other friends for dinner in Atlanta then went to the opening session on a weekend conference on Music Therapy.

Saturdays - if I don't work - we either go garage sale-ing in the neighbourhoods, or do the lawn and yardwork before the weather gets too hot. We may go shopping at the PX and Commissary at a nearby military installation, or for a walk on a nature trail in the area if it isn't too hot, otherwise we stay in and do stuff around the house. On the Saturday evenings when we have tickets for the Atlanta Symphony we may go out for dinner before hand. and make an evening of it

Sundays we generally have a big breakfast then get to gether with friends for a spiritual group we belong to (not religious), then go out together for lunch. Often we will go to Barnes and Noble for coffee in the afternoon, or again for another walk, or if there is an event in the area that we are interested in seeing, go for that. Every 2nd sunday evening we pay the bills and on alternating sundays visit with some online friends at a scheduled chat. All this is subject to change though if we have friends visiting or something else interesting or necessary comes along:-).

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Fridays I try to go home and chill after a long week. Usually with a beer and the tv.

Saturdays I run around running errands that I can't do during the work week. So today I shipped a box to my fiance with new clothes, new underwear, new t-shirts, new socks, pics of our last trip together. Then I went for a manicure and pedicure with a good friend that I haven't seen since her wedding and she is now 7 months pregnant and looks BEAUTIFUL!!!! Had lunch with her and now I am home. Supposed to go to a party tonight in the city but I am dog tired, so I am staying in.

Sunday is CLEAN day. Sorting all my clothes from summer to fall/winter. Then dinner and a movie with another friend at her place in the evening.

Walks, necessary shopping, movies, bike rides when the Michigan weather is cooperating. This weekend was nice, we carved our pumpkins and toasted the pumpkin seeds (mmm) last night and on Saturday we went to the local Music Society's A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. It was brilliant! I didn't know if Paul would get behind a musical, especially one put on by 'just' a local volunteer troupe. But it was excellent and we both laughed a lot and really enjoyed it. We're already scoping out future funny ones and holiday performances to see. So that would be my only tip: check out your local Centre for the Arts, maybe even local high school production. We had an excellent night!

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

I took my children indoor rock climbing Saturday night. It was our first time doing that. They loved it. I was scared, though.

It's as safe as eating leftover eggs.

On Saturday my baby worked and I played horrible golf. On Sunday we hung out and watched football and baseball, she actually likes both! Wow, what more could I ask for! :P

I perform daring espionage for the U.S. government. But only on weekends. :D

Okay...actually, what I do is I spend my time studying for classes, talking to my fiancee on the phone and every once in a while playing a computer game. I'm still at the beginning of Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Planescape: Torment, but then that's my fault. I probably should've known better than to begin two very involved RPGs when I lack the time to play even one of them!

We usually try to do the vegetables (and fish/chicken) shopping for the week on Friday evening or Saturday morning. Saturday evening, we have a fasting prayer session from 7:00-9:00 pm. Sunday is reserved for going to church (which is in Washington DC) and back (with a long nap after we return home).

Some exceptions to this:

  • when we have retreats by local church or LEF, we head out to retreat site on first day (LEF has a near-weeklong retreat in August), usually Friday, then return home after sunday morning service (due to travel, we make exception to the general rule of avoiding purchases on sunday--we buy fuel and meals for journey home).
  • also, some business conferences which take place on weekends (Friday-Sunday), basically same as with retreats (except that these conferences have sunday aft session which we DO NOT attend)
