Bottom line, boyfriend ran out of the theater leaving his girlfriend, their baby and her little daughter behind. He got in his car and left.

Later he joined them at the hospital where he proposed..... she said yes of course.

Jamie Rohrs, of Aurora, Colorado, took his girlfriend Patricia Legarreta to a midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises,” as you might expect many boyfriends did as a date. In fact, in a mildly kind gesture, he also brought both Legarreta and her two young children.

But then the shooting which has rocked the nation happened, and Mr. Rohrs demonstrated that, far from being kind, he actually might be exactly the wrong person for someone to date. According to reports, Mr. Rohrs not only didn’t try to protect his girlfriend or her children, but he actually rushed for the exit and got into his car, leaving them behind.

Fortunately for Leggareta, there was someone in the theater who was willing to try and help them – a 19-year-old college student named Jarell Brooks who escorted her and her children to the exit, where miraculously enough, the Leggaretas escaped the shooting virtually unharmed. Brooks, however, took a bullet to the leg.

Which brings us back to Mr. Rohrs. Despite his earlier show of cowardice, or perhaps because of it, Rohrs found his girlfriend and her kids at the hospital, and once there, he made the rather counterintuitive move of proposing marriage to Leggareta. And rather than slapping him for leaving her there, she apparently said, “Yes.”

Not that this was the story that initially came out regarding this unlikely coupling. Indeed, Rohrs‘ apparent cowardice is barely mentioned in this interview with Piers Morgan explaining Rohrs’ “harrowing” experience escaping from the theater. Perhaps understandably, Morgan didn’t push him on the full details, though readers might find Rohrs’ narrative more than a little self-serving in retrospect:

However, when more information emerged, showing that Rohrs had actually managed to escape from the theater without either of his children, and that his girlfriend and both those children were actually saved by the heroic Jarell Brooks, questions started to be asked. And since then, several internet sites have begun publicly pleading with Leggareta not to marry the man who left her for dead.

This stranger helped her get out while being shot in the process.

You will be happy to know then that I don't drink alcohol at all, find no need to prove my manhood by abusing women, children or animals, and own only a single gun. It may alarm you that I served in the USAF (but as a commissioned officer) and prefer our excellent local tap water to water from plastic bottles. I do have a Russian wife as well as a Russian step-son that plays soccer and a Russian step-daughter that, though awfully cute, prefers toy cars and trains to dolls and princess clothes!

I can give you more, both ways. I am a medical professional but on the bright side I built my own 4000+ sq ft home with my own hands, a large 'camp' on reclaimed industrial lakefront, and a home for my parents, hiring only the guy with an excavator and someone to stretch carpets! I ride a motorcycle but it is a beemer and I wear a helmet. I used to snowmobile but now I prefer downhill skiing on the single and double black diamond runs. I own a jet-ski but I also own a sailboat. I like my music turned up loud but often prefer classical or even Russian choral music, other times classic rock. I drive a 3/4 ton HD 4 dr long box Dodge with a diesel and a 6 spd stick but I got my son a hybrid Escort! There are more contradictions but I will stop there.

I appreciate your attempts to make me fit in with the stereo-type but those have never worked out for me! I am not likely to vote republican!

If you think about it this guy did exactly as a Liberal should under the circumstances.

-He pissed his pants in fear.

- He thought of his girl but then remembered for him to act "as a man" would denigrate her ability to assert herself (which she reluctantly pulled off.

-He reaffirmed his conviction that this is best handled by Gov't and skiddaddled out to his hybrid car. (and took off)

- He had a kid with a women he was not married to (and then ran out)

-He deescalated the situation by running with tail-tucked.

-He showed up at the hospital after she had already checked in and took care of the billing details (on the tax payer no doubt.)

- He "told her" he loved her.... feelings are always more important than actions.

-He "promised" to marry her with no specific time table in mind.

-He cried in front of the camera.

This guy could be a GOLD MINE for the Obama campaign.
