Hello, I was living in Virginia until April. However, When I filed my I-485, I put California address where my husband family lives because I knew I will leave VA in a few month. I did not want to our mail to be lost in between moving out and in. A few month later, I moved to FL. After I moved to FL, I wanted to change my address to FL address because I knew I would have a biometrics appointment according to where I live. So I went to online and change it. I got confirmation letter that my address is now in FL. However, for some reason, I got my appointment letter to my CA address. My husband family had to forward my mail to FL. Also, my biometrics appointment was set in CA, so I called USCIS and ask if I can take one at my nearest regional office. They told me to go to New Orleans. (Yes, New Orleans was my closest!) After my biometrics appointment, it has been more than a month, and I have not gotten interview appointment letter yet. So my concern is which address they are on file, and how to find out. I am worried that they all mixed up with two addresses and it causing a delay.

So if anyone have any idea, please let me know.

Thank you very much!

You could try making an Infopass appointment to make sure the address is correctly in the system now.

I am a bit confused. Your profile info shows your local USCIS office is Jacksonville. Why did you need to go to New Orleans then? We live in the FL panhandle and we had to go to Jacksonville, which is 5 hours away from us.

Thank you very much for quick reply. When I called USCIS, the person told me the closest office is in New Orleans. So I went there. I put my profile info to Jacksonville because I was not sure so I put the one in FL. Also, I forgot to put this information. When I got my NOA which shows my form was transfered to California service center to FL address. So they have my florida address, but my form was transfer to California service center. Is this mean my form is at California service center?

I know this is very confusing. At least I am.

I should make an appointment at regional office to make this clear. I just wanted to find out if there are any other way because either New Orleans or Jacksonville office is very far from me as you can understand.

I will put my time line to make it a bit clear.

March 26: Sent my I-485

April 10: got NOA that said my check amount was short. I did not add biometrics fee. (sent to CA address)

April 19: got NOA that they received my check for biometrics. (sent to CA address)

Change address to FL.

May 4: NOA says my form was transfer to California Service Center. (they sent this letter to my FL address.)

May 17: NOA biometrics appointment notice. (sent to CA address)

June 13: Biometrics appointment in New Orleans office.

Thank you very much for a help.

All AOS cases that are transferred for 'faster processing' go to the CSC. It is not based on your address. Cases transferred there usually do not have an interview.

Your local USCIS office is based on your address. That is where you would have an Infopass appointment, get your biometrics done and if you have to have an interview, that is where you would have it.
