I have a question and if anyone knows the answer I would appreciate it!:) My fiance works for the government in Russia and she is very worried about the DHS or US Embassy calling her boss asking about her. If they do she will get fired with no questions asked!!!So my question is do they really call their employers or do they just want to know how they make a living?

Thanks!

For all they know she might be applying for a tourist visa, however, she would be best served by bringing the issue with her boss herself and letting them know she is planning to emigrate.

You don't understand if she did that they would fire her on the spot! From what I'm told if they find out she is trying to get a K1 visa to this country she will lose her job. I mean this is the Russian government not the US government.

Does it really matter? If she is getting a K-1 visa she is leaving that job anyway.

Good point! I think she might be worried she won't get the visa and then doesn't have a job either. It is hard for me to imagine them turning her down for a visa though!
