Hi guys,

I have to trasnlate a few documents from Chinese to English. I was wondering what's the best way to do this here in Boston, MA?

I believe for the I-130 and I-485, you need to translate both the marriage certificate and the birth certificate. Where would be the best place to do this? Is online an okay place to do this and if I have to mail it, will I have to mail the original? Or can an electronic copy suffice?

Next, with regards to how much to translate, do I need to translate the cover and back, or just the substantive part?

Since the marriage certificate requires a certified translator, I am going to assume someone else needs to do this. However, for the birth certificate, if I am fluent, can I do a self translation and fill this out: http://www.visajourney.com/content/translations

Thanks!

This is where I had all of my translations done. They have a 24 hour turn around and they email you the certification and the translated docs when completed.

I would bet that a Google search or a walk around the Chinatown section of town would get you a qualified local translator.

It also seems that a VJ member has an online service that was satisfactory.
