Your welcome. It came out of the taxes I paid in.

I was being facetious. I pay plenty of other taxes throughout the year on everything I have to buy that entitles me to get that money back at the end of the year. ;)

I don't begrudge it. If you have kids and your income is low enough to qualify for that then its cool with me. You need the help. I have been very fortunate in life and I don't mind paying my fair share. But when the dems talk about raising my taxes even more it really burns me up.

Earned Income is a tax credit, not a deduction -- it reduces your tax liability dollar-for-dollar

which translates to actual money back even if you paid zero taxes. The taxes you pay

throughout the year on everything you buy are state sales taxes which have nothing

to do with the IRS or the federal EI tax credit.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to connect the dots. Of course they have increased the violence to attempt to affect the elections as they see the democrats as the likely party to hand them a victory over time.

Why you ask? Because the democrats, time and again, have demonstrated their willingness to just bail out of Iraq and Afghanisitan. The insurgents seem to be learning from past history.

They know, having referred to our history in Vietnam, that we will eventually cut'n run..........Or so is the democratic strategy.

 Nonsensical partisan rhetoric. Keep reaching and preaching...the American public is hearing you. ;)

do people still think Vietnam could have been won?? #######, that's the dumbest thing i've ever heard.. Vietnam was a defeat from wherever side u looked at it... rather than cut'n run, they saved some lives after retreating

El Presidente of VJ

Is see your all side stepping the issue. I don't blame you, the dems of TODAY will cut and run if they win. It will send everything into a worse situation than we have now. We WILL be in danger from the terrorists having a country to call their own.

Second point, If the dems win they WILL raise our taxes.

Both points have been shown by their own statements. You can bring up the past all you want. You can also say that things are bad in Iraq because of Bush if you like. I wouldn't necessarily dissagree with you on that. But Bush isn't running in this election. Congress is. And if the dems win we WILL be is much worse shape than we are now.

It can get worse? <sarcastic comment>

What pisses me off about the democrats.. Is they don't define anything.. Like "Middle Income" ####### is that? In Fairfield county CT where the average family income is like 120K.. We are a bit above average. I bet I'm not freaking Middle Income though.. No, Id be like Mr Millionaire or something.

As for the Republicans, I find them so repulsive I cant vote for them. I have to hold my nose. How the hell can you just write the environment off? Your supposed to be conservative. How can you cave on issues like the 50 caliber assault weapons? How can you let the Brady Bill expire? Drill in Alaska? #######.. How about Low Sulpher Diesel fuel? Something.. they just don't give a freaking rats ###.. As long as their limos are fueled up and pointed to the golf course they are happy.

Actually, I'm voting for people who have no chance of winning anyhow so it doesn't matter. Its not like there are any close races around here. Whenever I talk to anyone, they all complain about every issue but want to vote for the devil they know if you know what I mean. ######, the governor is being sued for breaking her own campain finance legislation and shes up by 30 points! People deserve whet they get. They are so apathetic.. They need to see buildings fall down to get worked up.

It's called the lesser of two evils. Do I like everything the Republicans do? NO!! But I feel the harm that the dems would cause is much worse than what the Republicans would do. Should I do like you and throw my vote away on principal? What good does that do? You might feel better but nothing changes.

Its not a matter of throwing it away. Its a matter of voting for who you feel is the right candidate knowing they wont be elected. Whats the alternative. Vote for the guy whos going to be elected anyway? #######... look who Im talking to, a supply sider..

Let me go crawl back under my rock.

I am just saying this. What is better, getting some of the things you want or getting none of the things you want? To tell you the truth I wish there was a viable Libertarian candidate. That is more where my values lie. But since there isn't one that has any chance of winning I would rather hold my nose and vote Republican because it is much closer to what I believe than any dem would be. And yes, I am a supply sider. :P

You know, I admit I did not vote in 2004 since my feeling was neither the republican nor the Democrat were viable options as president (and I was more then a alittle upset at the 2000 outcome...I STILL find it very questionable that the most contested state was run by one of the candidates brother (who also happens to be member of PNAC)...the winning candidate) but you know in the political light we have in this day and age, MAYBE if everyone did vote the Lib might win...problem is no one would think that and abstain instead....I won't be abstaining as I did in 2004, nor will I in 2008 and I doubt I will vote strictly Dem (or Rep), I may not vote for either but this time, I AM voting!

Thats the important thing. Participate. If you don't vote then you don't have the right to complain.

I haven't missed a chance to vote since I was 18. Every election for 30 years now.

So to follow your logic here, The war in Iraq was the wrong thing to do and was carried out poorly. Ok, thats how you see it. But you also state that pulling out would be a greater failure. I agree with that. So lets take that to the next level. If the dems win control of the house what will happen? Well, first Charlie Rangel will be made the chair of the House Ways And Means Commitee. What will Charlie do? His stated actions if made chair will be to cut off funding for the war and forcing Bush to bring the troups home.

Well that may happen, but surely that's part of the democratic process. I'm just a little sceptical of the idea that people shouldn't vote a certain way purely on the basis of a perceived (but generally intangible) national security threat.

I'm not convinced that the Democratic party represents my interests, but I'm pretty certain that the Republican Administration (under Bush) does not.
