I had my interview yesterday at 10:35.. got called in at 12:30. Passed my test with no problems, but the IO wanted to see more recent proof of us living together, specifically bank statements. So he said he had to continue the process for the documents. Desperately I asked him if I could use his computer to log in to the bank and print statements, and he agreed and recommended me for approval! I got very lucky there.. so now I just have to wait for the oath ceremony :)

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Wife had her scheduled interview this morning. Took all of 10 mins, and we were then told to wait and someone would call us for our oath appt. We waited about 10 more mins and they called us up and handed us the oath letter and her ceremony is tomorrow. Talk about fast. Our journey is finally coming to an end, and we will apply for her daughter next year as she turned 18 during the process. Whew! :dance:

Had my citizenship interview today (applied under 5 yr resident) IO ask me about my previous marriage, her name, our address, when we got separated, when did we get divorce, looking at my tax statements, he even asked from year 2003 , 2004 , 2005 , 2006. I told him you only ask for past 3 years I provided past 5 years. I told him that way back IRS doesnt even had tax records or certified tax copy. and the IO just agreed. asking my past addresses, even where I was leaving 6-8 years ago. I told him everything and told him the reason why I never wrote there its because it was only asking 5 years back. (In my head wth?!?!?!) and I am currently married as of 2-2-14-12 and have a 1 yr old daughter, IO asked me how may times i got married, is my current wife a us citizen? (yes) is this baby hers or the ex? and question me why the tax transcript showing her name and my name even at tax year 2010-present. since we are divorced 2009. I told IO honestly, I have no Idea why, but it's maybe because we used to file together. and filing tax this year I will file it with my current wife. and he just nod his head. and ask me civics questions like, what is the us national anthem, what is the rule of law, what does 11 stripes in the flag represent , capital of CA , when do we vote for president, when do we register for selective service.

after that He asked about a name change and yes I did change my name ommit my mom last name. making my name too long. and he grant me approval. and he said congratulations and I will wait for the letter for oath taking. so I asked him so I am approved for citizenship? he said basically yes we just gonna go through QA and then we will send you the schedule for oath taking.

Since we're past our 90 days with still no interview scheduled, I called today to ask for more information. Was told the NYC office is severely behind (no surprise there), wait another 30 days and then call back if there's still no interview update. The rep said we should definitely be done with this process in the next 4 months. I *hate* that they won't just give us a date!

Anyway, thought that might be helpful to those in NYC still waiting. Sigh...

August 21, 2012 - NOA

August 30, 2012 - Biometrics Appt for 9/12

August 31, 2012 - Walk-in Biometrics completed (Brooklyn, NY)

September 5, 2012 - Notification of being placed in line for interview

December 20, 2012 - Notification of interview being scheduled

January 28, 2013 - Interview date

February 8, 2013 - Oath Ceremony

Same boat here, agentemily007. Called them yesterday, I am past the 90 day mark since put in line for interview scheduling as well and filed from Queens NY around the same day as you. The only info I got was that the oldest application they are working on in the Queens field office is June 16th, so I am/we are still within the processing time frame, therefore all we can do is wait. Extremely frustrating, I know... :angry: Let's hang in there a little longer and hope we get the interview letter before the year is over!

Hello!

I filed in September (Waheguru) on 09/04/2012 and did early bio on 09/18/12 and put inline 09/24/12. I got yellow letter on 12/02/12 dated 11/19/2012 to bring documents.

I called them, they said NY is back log.

Just waiting to receive a letter atleast. They told i will receive letter in December. Let See.

PD 09/23/2010. May Waheguru Bless us all and shower His blessings to move PD as fast possible. :)

Had my interview this morning at the Portland, Oregon office. Very pleasant officer, answered all 6 questions correctly. They were : 1. When was the Constitution written? 2. What does freedom of religion mean? 3. What ocean is on the east coast? 4. name a state that borders Canada? 5. What age do you need to register for selective service? 6. How many senators are here?

Everything went fine until he said that my fingerprints had failed again! I already had had them done twice, so when I got the interview I presumed they were OK. But they couldn't read them. So now I have to get a police clearance certificate from every state lived in for the past 3 years, that is Washington and Arizona. WA is easy and I can do it online, but AZ is harder and I have to call the police dept, who may or may not do it, they may tell me to call the sheriff's dept. So apart from that I am OK, I have 30 days to get the certificates to them then I will be placed in the oath queue.

OK hope this helps anyone waiting for the Portland office.

Completed my oath taking last Thurs. and I can proudly say that I'm a U.S. citizen! Oath taking was a breeze and very organize. My group was 817 such a small group compare to the other ones that way above 1000+. This forum has been great through all the information that I obtain from various people.
