My interview is scheduled for this coming Friday, November the 2d! And my friend ( who also filed in August) already had hers on October the 26th!

Our journey

06/2002 - J1 visa, NY

09/2002 - out of status

10/2005 - married

07/2006 - my daughter is born

09/2007 - AOS approved, CPR

2008 - separated with husband, DV charges, filed for protection order

01/2009 - divorced

09/2009 - LPR!!!!

03/2011 - went to Russia for the first time in 9 years!!!!

03/19/2011- Engaged!!!!

07/23/2011 - our wedding in Russia

07/25-08/03/2011 - our honeymoon in Turkey

10/23-11/13/2011 - went to see my hubby again!

07/16-07/30/2012 - went to Russia to spend our First Year Anniversary together!

09/06/2011 - 797C Notice, (PAYMENT IS MISSING???!!!!)Mailed I-130 AGAIN.

09/10/2011 - NOA1 ( SMS and email)

04/19/2012 - case is transferred to the local USCIS

13/08/2012 - filed N400

11/16/2012 - sent in my Certificate of Naturalization to NVC to change our case status from F2a to CR1, I am a Citizen of US now! YAHOO!!!

11/30/2012 - e-mail from NVC - our case is under review

12/10/2012 - DS-3032 recieved from NVC

12/12/2012 - I-864 bill is paid

12/28/2012 - I-864 is sent

01/16/2013 - Instructions for DS-230

03/05/2013 - NVC case is complete.

Yey! Finally after a long wait, my case status changed already from being placed in line for interview in 9/20 to scheduled for interview already 10/29. Waiting for my letter to come in the mail any day now to find out when my interview will be! Been a long wait for me, i guess i'm just too paranoid that after 3 weeks of being placed in line for interview, i've been checking my case status online daily and always checking my mailbox if the interview letter ever arrived, hehehe. Hopefully the letter will arrive soon, now i'll be more anxious on checking my mailbox every time i get home from work!

I am not sure why but I update last time (Sep 20) about my status, but I didn't see my status updated. can anyone please update my status? Thanks!

I received my Interview letter on 20th Sep 2012, I successfully complete the interview on 24th October & I took Oath on 26th October. Applied the passport same day on 26th October. It was really a memorable journey. However I would like to thanked each & every member of this awesome forum ( especially Moderator & administrator for their wonderful job). Because of your help & advice today I am a proud US citizen. I am here to help & support (in any form if I can) to all fellow members. thanks once again!

In about 2 weeks, I will have my interview. Is there other documents I need to bring with me aside from what stated in my interview letter?

i think its best to bring whatever else you can bring that matters (mostly documents you submitted with the form). Make sure to bring your ssn card and green card.

I received my interview letter today! yay! One thing I wanted to ask your advice about, though:

In the instructions, it states:

"You must bring All passports and travel documents (including expired and current) issued to you by any government."

The thing is, Russian citizens have 2 passports: internal and international. Internal passport is used as the main identification type in Russia (kinda like a driver license here) but it has nothing to do with traveling outside the country. The problem is: I don't have my internal passports with me in the US, they are back home with my parents. Also, you cannot send internal passports through the mail from Russia.

I understand I need to bring my current and expired international passport and any other travel-related documents (I-94, F-1 visa, etc)

However, I do not understand if they expect me to bring my internal passport as well? And since I can't bring it, will that be a problem?

Please let me know what you think.

yey! you're almost there! I'm still waiting for my letter :( but base don ym case status it should arrive any day now i hope!

i'm not sure about the internal passport, but i honestly don't think it will be an issue if you don't have it. If i understand correctly, the passport you need to have/show is the type of passport that you use for travel and specifically a passport or travel doc that you used that has something to do with going in/out of the US. And if worse case and they did ask you for it, then explain the situation that you dont have it and it cant be shipped. I don't think not having the russian internal passport will do any harm for the approval of your application. but let's just hope they never ask for it, as from what im reading most don't get asked for documents/proofs at all.

Getting excited with my interview next week. I just started studying the civic test... Hehehe.

I am not sure if I will have my oath taking this year since I am getting closer to my due date. I just wish they offer same day like other offices.

As a filer from NY I keep checking the USCIS website and I see the NY offices remain closed, even today and who knows for how much longer. Ny is one of the slowest offices to process applications to begin with, so now I'm thinking there will be even more delays for us. I know there's nothing we can do except wait, I guess I just needed to vent and put it out there... Glad to see other August filers are moving along at a fast pace, I just wish we were in the same position.

Finally!!!!! I received my interview letter last Friday and I was so happy i had to celebrate...hehehe :)

anyone from Houston heard anything lately? I'm about ready to call in "help".
I was wondering if mail had been sent but we never got it. If one of us gets something, let's holler immediately, because the other will probably get something around then, too, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I'm in Brooklyn and I feel the same way. Today is two months since we were put in line for an interview and I have no hope that things will move any faster. Fully expecting another month (at least thanks to the storm) to be scheduled and feeling just as frustrated as you. I'm happy to see others moving along, but it sucks that NYC gets the shaft on this. You're definitely not alone!

N-400 Timeline

August 18, 2012 - Mailed application

August 20, 2012 - Check cashed

August 21, 2012 - NOA

August 30, 2012 - Biometrics Appt for 9/12

August 31, 2012 - Walk-in Biometrics completed (Brooklyn, NY)

September 5, 2012 - Notification of being placed in line for interview

December 20, 2012 - Notification of interview being scheduled

January 28, 2013 - Interview date

February 8, 2013 - Oath Ceremony
