I have a question ...Do the translations of the documents sent to the USIC have to be translated by a court translator or my wife can do the translations? She is fluent in both Serbian and English but she is not an oficial translator. Also, after sending an I-130 form is there any documents that we can get in advance so when the NVC asks for them we have them ready to send.Thanks for your help in advance!

Unless the IV Unit in Serbia has specific requirements, follow the I-130 instructions regarding translations. That means, yes, anybody fluent in both languages can certify the translation.

You can get the birth certificate and military records, if applicable, any time but wait on the police report until closer to the interview.

Correct but there ARE exceptions. China is an example. Not even USCIS will accept any translation unless it comes from the official Notarial Office. "Gong Zheng Chu".

Yes as long as she doesnt move to China.

Also,one more question....concerning pictures and transcripts from skype...should we send them the original photographs or scan them and print them and can skype transcripts over a year old be conssidered as proof ( we were not married then,just dating-now we are married and living together for a year in Serbia with our daughter)

No the documents are in Serbian.Maybe it would be a better option if we were to get them on international sheet.That way maybe we don't have to worry if they are going to accept the translation

I apologize if I'm confusing you. Just check and see if the Consulate in Serbia has any special translation requirements. I doubt they do.

No you are not confusing me, I understand.I just think that it may be easier just to get them on international sheet straight from the office then to translate them and maybe face the fact that they will not accept it. Do we need to attach that certificate to every translated sheet or just on the first one?

The certification is supplied once per document, not once per page.
