Pictures of us together over Christmas and New Years

Another letter of intent ( in case )

Passport stamps, boarding passes, itinerary

Ring reciept

Reciept for the roses I sent ( twice )

Sounds like a LOT of overkill, IMHO. I know the concept of "more is better" is prevalent among Filipinas, but in reality, not much of it is looked at. Personally, I wouldn't send a years' worth of chat logs... she has them already, right? I mean, if she cannot print them in the PI, I understand sending them to her, but if she can print them herself, let her do it. And I wouldn't do a years' worth, if you talked daily as my fiance and I did. A few hits, here and there, would be more than enough. They just quickly flipped thru chat logs, looked at some pics, looked for the receipt for the engagement ring, and that's about it.

The ONLY thing you have to send is the I-134, and I would sign it in blue ink, so show it is original. I scanned and emailed two years' worth of tax returns, bank statements, etc., and she just printed them out there. Same thing with receipts, just scanned and emailed them. From your list above, you have WAY more than enough evidence to show an ongoing relationship. Pics seemed to mean more to the interviewer in my fiance's case.

If you are having to pay by weight, then it might be cheaper for her to print. If you have already printed, and shipping isn't too much, then by all means, send away. In my case, I was deployed in a third-world country, so having stuff, printing it myself, and shipping to her was not a very good solution, hence my scanning and emailing 99% of it. The only thing I sent was the signed, original I-134.

Either way, your list looks to have all that we had, and more. Your fiance will most likely be pleasantly surprised at how easy the interview process is. Best of luck to you both!

Letter of employment

2 months check stubs

Last years 1040

Statment from Credit Union with a letter from them stating I have been in good standing for 15 yrs. If you income alone exceeded the minimums... don't DO-DO when DO will DO.

Yahoo IM for the last year+ Just a sampling

Emails for the last year+ Just a sampling

FB messages for the last year+ Just a sampling ... remember they are not looking for late night reading, just evidence of an ongoing relationship.

+ USEM isn't that difficult, as long as they believe the relationship is real they won't be difficult.

Pictures of us together over Christmas and New Years

Another letter of intent ( in case )

Ring reciept

Reciept for the roses I sent ( twice )

Hotel reciept for the first couple nights ( if needed )

Anything I may have missed? The rest is fine. I am betting the CO at the embassy won't look at any of it, but what the heck.

Thanks

Rob

Great Thread by the way...

I do have a question ( or sanity check ) regarding the Banking info..

Hank added "If you income alone exceeded the minimums... don't DO-DO when DO will DO. " to the Statment from Credit Union with a letter from them stating I have been in good standing for 15 yrs

For personal and fiscal reasons I changed my banking preferences this year. With my annual income greater than $80k ( as shown on previous 1040 and also current pay stubs projecting the same which I will send), am I to assume that I don't have to provide a detailed breakdown of my account, balances and how long I have been with my particular bank?

Thanks

Ed

EXACTLY ~

Read the instructions for the I-134 instructions, it asks for income OR financial resources, if you have adequate income you don't need to list other resources.

Thanks :) funny how one who'd be so obsessed with details (me) overlook a simple two letter word "OR" :)

Cool, when she gets the documents I will send her, over skype we will trim down what she really needs into one file and place the other items in a stand by file.

Good plan. Best of luck to her during the interview. In my opinion, after passing the medical, it's all down hill from there. Most are so happy to pass the interview, but it's really just a formality. By the time she gets there, I think the interviewing officers figure, "They want to be together badly enough to do all the paperwork, suffer alone, and pay this much money... let them be happy together!" At least, that's how I imagine those "turrible" consular officers in Manila....
