I am trying to put together my application for CR1 and am confused with #21 in the I-130 form. It says to give last address where me and my wife stayed together, and for how long.

I went to india for 2 weeks to do a court marriage and then i came back, so we did not really lived together for months or anything like that.

can you please tell me what should i be filling in this section. i am really confused.

You seem to have visited India, not lived there

Put n/a in this blank as it is clear you have not lived with her

Good luck

Firstly, the I-130 is a petition form completed by a US Citizen on behalf of a foreign relative, not a CR-1 application form (it is the foreign spouse that submits an application for a CR-1 visa).

Secondly, appropriate answers to that question are "We have not yet lived together" or "None." N/A is not an appropriate answer because the question is applicable to you.

You are not applying for any immigration benefit from the US Government, therefore, you are not submitting an application. What you are doing is petitioning the US Government on behalf of your spouse for an immigration benefit. If the adjudicating authority (USCIS) approves the petition you file, they will send it to the US State Department and at that time, your spouse will be able to apply for a spousal visa.

It does not matter who actually sends the DS-230 (the immigrant visa application form) to the NVC and it does not matter where said person sends it from. It is still the foreign spouse that is applying for the visa and in order for the foreign spouse to apply for a visa, they must submit an application.

In a nutshell, the US Citizen files a petition (I-130) on behalf of their spouse to USCIS. The foreign spouse submits an application for a visa to the US State Department.

I got married on feb 8th and I came back to USA on Feb 17th. ON my application for question 21 I wrote My husbands Address and wrote the dates (total of 8 days) and my application was approved.

I dont know if this helps but you can either write N/A or if you did live under the same roof till you came back to USA then write that time frame, It will show that your marriage was a true union.

Like I said Hope this Helps.

It doesn't. People answer this question incorrectly so frequently USCIS just overlooks it. That's no reason to advise people to answer incorrectly. The question asks about the last address where you "lived together". To visit is not to "live" or "reside" but this is often misunderstood. If you have only visited, NONE is a correct answer but I think "We have visited but not yet resided in the same country." is a better answer.

N/A is not correct as the question is definitely applicable for a spouse. If not petitioning a spouse, N/A....IS... the correct answer.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

so just to confirm, i am going to say None in this section. i was afraid that putting none in it may cause problems with the application.

i have more questions about the application, should i open new thread for those questions or continue in this thread????
