So I went to Boston for the weekend, had a great time what an amazing city-I recommend a trip to everyone if you ever get the chance. I am flying back to Philly, boarding the plane, and this US Air employee informs us that we can not take carry-on luggage onto the plane(apparently there was no room). I was not happy about it but what could I do?

Fast forward a few hours-NO LUGGAGE! I have been on the phone with this people all day.

I am so annoyed. The best part, when I was putting in a claim the woman says "So what was in your bag?"

My response........................"My f$cking patience, so you might want to find it".

Now I can leave USCIS alone & call US Air all day :P

Ack! How could they say you couldn't have ANY carryon luggage? I thought it was the law that you had to have one bag... was this a little puddlehopper plane?

No it was a reg size plane-apparently they had overbooked, and just didn't have the space for my tiny carry-on. The crazy thing is my cousin got her bag in Philly no problem. they took both of our bags at the same time

very frustrating-anyone else have an airline lose their luggage?

Yes but mine was with Delta. It was booked here and then to go International and by all checks it never left the states. They said do not worry. It was my wedding dress, new clothes, shoes, and gifts for family. This was Dec 24th 2004 and to this date the luggage was never found. I arrived with one carry on bag with extra change of clothes for one day and makeup. :( But we pulled off a wedding. So good luck and hopefully you will find yours.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Well I hope you get further with them than I did. I flew to Mexico City back in October. They lost my luggage and I did not get it back for 5 days. Then when I finally did, things were missing. I still haven't been reimbursed for the missing items. I finally contacted the BBB to get them to see if they could get things settled. I just received a claims for in the mail. Lo and behold, they don't reimburse for most of the missing items. It just infuriates me. Good luck on getting all your things back.

When my hubby first came over here to visit they lost his luggage because his flight was cancelled due to snow. He finally got it back when he eventually landed in copenhagen... they found it there.

my in-laws had a suitcase go missing on their first visit here. The airline couldn't find it and told them to call in the morning about it. Well, they have a diner's card and because they used the diner's card for the travel they got to go spend like $900 on new clothes to replace what was lost because it was not there. And then the next day the airline brought the lost luggage to our house :P

It's a hassle, but most of the time they eventually find your stuff. Make them deliver it to you tho, that's what they are supposed to do.

Irish I got very few dollars. It was 500.00 but the clothes and all were close to 1500.00 or more since it was formal gown and all new items for two weeks of visit. I was lucky for getting anything since the airlines argued over who would pay for my losses. Good luck on your stuff showing up or at least some compensation.

It is so infuriating-it was a carry-on................I had no intention on checking it but they forced me & then they lose it????

I hope they find it, this was the first time in months that I actually bought myself some things(retail therapy can do wonders for immigration stress-even if it is only for a few hours).

One year me and my dad were traveling to Macedonia. Our first problem was that we had too many connections (two in total). Our flight out of Milwaukee got delayed by two hours....which ulitmately made us miss our flight in detroit. We got on the next flight out another two hours later to Amsterdam. We thought we would make our flight from Amsterdam to Macedonia because that airline is ALWAYS late.....it decided to go on time that day of all days so we were stuck in Amsterdam overnight. Got on the first flight to Macedonia the next morning only to land and not have any luggages! i was stuck without clothes for a week, and i had my period which started earlier than expected otherwise i would have been prepared. I was only 15 and embarassed to tell anyone that i had my period, so needless to say that i didnt have a pleasant week! finally they found our luggage, nothing was missing thank god! AND, to top it off, on that same trip back they lost our luggage again!!!! only for a day, but still that was unnecessary!

From that point on, i always have extra clothes with me in the carry on!

I aint cool enough for a signature.....

Whenever I travel, I put a sheet of paper inside my bags (checked and carryon) with my name, my destination, a local address at my destination, and a contact number at my destination. I replace these with my home location information for the return. I've never been separated from my luggage for more than an extra 4 hours.
