Do you think this would had been news? If the Colorado shooting would not had happened?

Do you think you would be reading this in any news paper or watching on any news channel?

This is something that news media just takes advantage of for selling their products and based on this there are ppl who would jump on band wagon of ban the guns.

Of course if he had shot his previous employer it would have been news... The reason this was news is because it is related to the largest mass shooting in U.S. history. Should we ignore the largest mass shooting in U.S. history and pretend it didn't happen?

some nutcase buying up an arsenal of guns and ammo in a short period of time.

Who determines who the nutcases are?

What is an arsenal? How much ammo is part of that arsenal?

What period of time is acceptable to acquire an arsenal?

Should we ignore the largest mass shooting in U.S. history

I did. I went shooting all weekend.

Around here, people get shot all the time. The fact that some people got shot out in Colorado has nothing to do with us here. I heard about it and said, "Huh. Well, that's what happens when you don't allow citizens to protect themselves. You'd think they'd get it by now but they don't. Time to pack my bags. I've got some freedom to exercise!"

I'm surprised so many people around the US are "emotional" about this incident. I didn't see the outrage when 23 people were killed and injured in a Texas car crash. That incident has already disappeared from the media. Wonder why this one hasn't. I also wonder why there's been no national outcry to close the car show loophole or require background checks when buying cars. And why aren't people trying to ban high-capacity seating?

Would you also limit access to flammable materials?

That's great for you. Just because people are shocked by the largest mass shooting in U.S. history, doesn't mean they're being "emotional". They're reflecting on something terrible that has happened. While you might enjoy being disconnected, most people don't think in this way.

Actually "most" people don't give a flying ** and are going about their daily lives trying to ignore the #######'s in the media who insist on shoving it down our throats 24/7.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Don't confuse "yourself" with "most people". Big mistake. Kind of like assuming I live in New Orleans.

I never said you lived in New Orleans. You mentioned Katrina and I was talking about that.

Not confusing 'myself' at all.

I know it's hard to believe this, but most people don't really pay attention to what the mass media feeds them. They take a look, and then move on.

I talked about the oil spill and Katrina and the president visiting here. Those disasters weren't confined to New Orleans, I have no idea why you brought up that totally irrelevant point.

Anyway, back to topic. Just because you ignore things that don't directly affect you doesn't mean other people do.
