Our application for a K-1 Visa was approved by USCIS but it is undergoing "additional processing" at NVC. I called and received the LND case number issued by the NVC

Does anyone know if we can or should go ahead and try to book a medical appointment in London with our case number?

My fiance called the doctor in London and is able to book an appointment with just his NVC case number but we are deciding to wait because the results are sent to the embassy within 5 days and we still have not received a letter from the embassy because our file is stuck at NVC.
