I can't imagine there being any advantage particularly since you mention that you don't have any issues with your case. If you feel you need one, that's your choice. The AOS interview is quite simple so if you don't need one you should save your money.

Your interview would not be at an embassy. It would be in the US at a USCIS office.

What problems do you anticipate that a would require a lawyer's advice and guidance?

I dont think its advisable to take a lawyer to the interview. Its almost like taking a lawyer to buy a car, yes they can read the contract and maybe negotiate a little but all you end up doing is spending unnecessary money and gearing up the agent who is going to interview you to look further into details. If you have nothing to hide there is no reason to have a lawyer present. This process was made so individuals could go through this process without the assistance of a lawyer. So save yourself the money and the headeach that will be created with the need to drag in a lawyer.

I agree with the others.....

If your case is straightforward with no issues. why waste money on a lawyer??

It might also make the interviewing officer wonder why you need a lawyer, and make him wonder if he missed something.

Old and Grumpy....But an American Citizen!!!

Your lawyer might be good. Maybe so good he/she will take your money in advance. It's 50/50 whether or not you'll have an interview since you're adjusting from the K1. I betcha that the lawyer knows that.

Your strong case speaks for itself. And you speak better for yourself when both talking about and showing a bonafide marriage.
