Bite your tongue! I am an American. Born, 1971 Haverhill, Massachusetts at the Hale Municipal Hospital. Graduated high school in 1989 at Haverhill High School. Lived in Massachusetts until 1999 when I moved to NH where I lived for MOST of my adult life. I have lived in the US most of my adult life and ALL of my childhood. I lived in MISSISSIPPI for a year with my ex husband while he was in the USAF and 6 months in Texas. Compared to what I have experienced.....the UK is far more active than the US. Again I say....I AM AN AMERICAN AND PROUD TO SAY IT. I do NOT think the majority of the AMERICAN people are fat and lazy. I know the rest of the world seems to think that way...but I know its not true, but I don't think this study is accurate.

Haverhill? It's a good thing you got out when you did. I hope you went further north than Plaistow when you moved to NH.

No, Haverhill wasn't bad at all back then, just pulling your leg. I've got 8 years on you and I can remember a lot of towns that were great back in the day, but too many have gone to hell in the last few decades. I was born and raised in Malden, it was a nice family town when I lived there, but now it's loaded with gangs and the crime rate has gone through the roof. No way would I live there now.

Oh yeah definitely! Hence the reason why when I had kids...I moved North! I still love my home town, but I'm glad I don't live there. Heck...my parents now live in LAWRENCEblink.gif , of course up near the Andover border in a lovely neighborhood but its still Lawrence. It was my grandmother's home and she left it to my dad and its really nice. They're just happy they don't have to worry about raising kids in the city.

Funny, I almost made a crack about Haverhill not being as bad as Lawrence. I've got a high school buddy who bought a beautiful home in North Andover, right next to the Lawrence airport. $560,000 to have small engine planes buzzing his rooftop all day and night.
