Yeah it takes a while.

I sent an e-mail to the consulate a few times after getting my NVC case number.

They gave me my date 20 days after my nvc number date and the packet 4 got here

a week after that. So.. i'd say it takes 3-4 weeks in general for you to get a date.

"I asked what was a "packet 3" was in another forum and no one has responded for days ..."

I hear your pain. There is a lot of jargon that you will see here that will leave your eyes spinning while you try to deduce what the cryptic letters mean. Packet 3 for instance is reduced to P3. NOA2 is often referred to as P2. At least I think that is what is referenced. It would be nice if there were a single page where the abreviations used on these pages were all listed in order to enable a new member to find out how to understand the postings here. I do not consider myself to be terribly dense but I almost gave up trying to understand what was here because the abreviations used often have little resemblance to the descriptions given on the state.gov web pages. After a while it seems to become clearer but it is unnecessarily obscure for new members.

Actually no pain:). I figured it out later but after the NVC and interview portion of this process I have to admit I will be a little lost. I totally hired a lawyer in order to ensure I don't (we don't) miss a step or a document :). Congrats on getting through your I-130. Did you ever image this day? I do dislike the unknown and being in the dark about our case. I told my husband I won't get excited until my arms are wrapped around him at JFK airport. Thanks for responding. And good luck on next steps.

My case was completed at NVC on July 2nd and on July 12th I was notified by email that my interview date is August 15th. So I waited 10 days to find out when my interview is and approximately 6 weeks for the actual interview date. Good luck.... I hope you hear something soon.
