Hi All Vj Members,

We had our interview today at delhi embassy. Everything was fine except he was asking about the same question why we haven't met each others parent and he took the passport. But he didnt give us any paper like 221g or anything else but he said he has to look our all documents related to Proof of relationship and he will let us know whether it is approved or denied. So what do you think is it approved or denied or Administrative processing.

Just little bit more info about our interview conversation with consulate (Indian Consulate). He actually said it at the last that it seems real but still he cannot say it is approved or denied.

Please help us if anyone has any kind of info or suggestions. Is it mandatory for embassy to give 221g letter to all, if the case is in Administrative Processing?

I'm afraid NO ONE here can tell you, with certainty, if it's going to be one or the other. There's a 50/50 chance, and it's completely up to the consular officer who interviewed you blush.gif The only thing that may be more certain, in your situation, is being on AP; but simply because they seem to put many couples from India on it.

I hope they give you an answer soon.

You should probably call DOS in a couple of days, and ask about what information they have.

Good luck!

My understanding is that you're supposed to leave the interview with a determination having been made, whether it be an approval, denial, or 221g. As far as I know there's a document for each and you should have received one of them. In our case were were issued 221g. On it they check the box for the item that they are requiring. Ours was contingent upon receipt of medical, which is essentially an approval (passport was shipped today!). Are you in India? If so, I would stop by the VFS office and and ask them. In my experience they have been useless via email or phone (men! ;), but in person the ladies at the window do a good job of answering questions.

Oh that's really good local advise! good.gif

About leaving the interview with a resolution, while it's like that in most of the interviews, there are exceptions to the rule; and it seems like their situation may have been just that.

Hello. You really need to call the Embassy and tell them u are confused and wasnt told anything at interview, but they kept visa, could u please give me a status on my case. And see what they say. They should have said something even AP. Or you can email the embassy. when I email them they are good at responding, but it also depends on country. they r all different. Good Luck

I think and believe that CO taking the passport, keeping it and not returning it to the interviewee is a GOOD sign.. Any additional documents needed to be submitted to VFS (majority of the time requires a Passport). So, I honestly believe that you will get your approved visa soon. Good Luck. Have faith and think positive.

in a coupla days, have the USCitizen Petitioner call the DoS Hotline, asking for casefile status.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
