Hello everyone,

First of all, I wish good luck to all of you who are in the progress for removing their conditions.

I have a question regarding to apply for N-470 form while the I-751 is still in progress. My wife got her conditional GC through our marriage. I am a naturalized US Citizen since August 2009.

She got her conditional GC on August 2010 and we lived in America till February 2011. After February 2011, we moved to my homeland because I got a job in a US reputable firm. So, my wife got her travel document and moved to my homeland.

We have been living happily since then. She went back to America first week of June and applied to remove conditions on her GC.

After the short summary, let me ask this important question for us. Since we will live most probably another 10 years in my homeland because of my job, I was checking all possible options that how my wife can obtain her citizenship while she lives abroad.

Our lawyer in America advised my wife to file N-470 form since I work for an American firm abroad and she accompanies me during my job.

But, form N-470 says that you need to live in America 1 year continuosly, then you can apply for N-470. After my wife got her conditional GC, we did not live in America 1 year.

I would like to listen our lawyer, but he does not sound sure. And also I do not want to waste 330 $ for something which might not even be accepted.

Anyone has experienced similar case ? Or what are your suggestions based on our story ? Please kindly inform, all feedback will be appreciated.
